Guernsey

As I'm sure most of team-moth have found, the last couple of weeks have been terrific, with the best catches in my garden for at least five years. As can be seen on the pic below, the only place I can put my trap to avoid neighbours' windows, is on the patio, surrounded by ten-foot high white walls. To open the back door early in the morning and see these walls speckled with lots of moths is a delight.


Just in the last week and a half I have had 9 new species for the garden, which is more than the whole of last year. This morning there were 3 superb lifers for me in the trap, Sitochroa palealis, Ethmia bipunctella (4th island record) and a Dingy Mocha (first Guernsey record!). This magic triumvirate are shown below.
